The SOM® 62 Ophthal is the optimal basic microscope for ophthalmological examinations and cataract surgery. It is ideally suited for outpatient surgery centers, small clinics or laser centers.

The surgical microscope combines easy and precise positioning, excellent illumination with a bright, high-contrast red glare and excellent optical image quality.

The 5-level apochromatic magnification changer (with optional 1:6 manual zoom) provides a bright, high-contrast image.

The motorized fine focus (40 mm) is controlled by a small foot pedal. This keeps both hands free for operation.

You can customize the focus speed and light intensity settings.

Uninterrupted surgery
As an option, an emergency light can be integrated to avoid interruptions. With an integrated toggle switch, you can turn the unit on or off after reaching the desired working position.

Stable bottom reflex (red reflex)
The 15 V / 150 W coaxial fiber optic illumination with integrated UV filter and swiveling GG 475 retinal protection filter generates a bright red reflex while providing maximum protection for the patient's eye.

Documentation
Various stereo setups for secondary observers are available for documentation, teaching or working with assistants. You can also connect the microscope to a video camera in combination with a TFT monitor to document your findings
